Examinations

King oil painting before restoration

Every work of art is different and requires individual consideration.

For over 30 years the Studio has developed considerable experience cleaning oil paintings and treating paintings on canvas, panel and decorative fixed painted wood structures.
Holding a Professional Accreditation of Conservator/Restorers (PACR) with the Institute of Conservation, Francis is a master examiner who is respected and trusted in the art world.

Standards you can trust

All work is assessed, recorded and carried out to museum standards using high quality reversible and removable King oil painting after restorationmaterials and up-to-date techniques. Professional Practice and treatments follow the Code of Ethics and Rules of Practice as promoted by ECCO (European Confederation of Conservators-Restorers' Organisations) and as recognised by ICON (Institute of Conservation).

Where necessary, microscopic, x-ray, infra-red and chemical analysis are used to support examination prior to commencement of any painting conservation or restoration work.
Written and photographic records are prepared and kept throughout each stage of treatment.

We offer free, no-obligation initial examinations, assessments and estimates at our studio in North York or at your site.
